About the Festival
The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival, now in its 28th year, is held the 2nd weekend of October each year in historic downtown Conroe. The family-friendly event features non-stop live music with local, regional and national performers on two stages, food vendors offering festival and Cajun favorites, arts & crafts vendors, a professional carnival, assorted community and educational exhibits, an annual Catfish Pageant and a KidZone area with activities for children and a special performance stage featuring local dance teams, community groups and entertainers. The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is a cultural program of the Friends of Conroe, Inc., a non-profit community organization dedicated to furthering the common welfare and well-being of the city of Conroe, Texas. The group sponsors and produces the festival each year.
Festival Dates & Times
The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is held the 2nd weekend in October of each year. The 2017 festival takes place:
- Friday, October 13 from 6pm ’til midnight
- Saturday, October 14 from 11am ’til midnight
- Sunday, October 15 from 12pm ’til 6pm
Festival Ticket Information & Discounts
Tickets are available online and at the entry gates throughout the duration of the festival. Admission for children 12 and under is free! Bring two or more canned goods to any of the entry gates to receive $1.00 off any single day ticket to the festival. All donations of canned goods will benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank.
Carnival Ticket Information
Carnival Admittance is Free on Thursday. Armbands or tickets for carnival rides can be purchased on site.

Festival Location & Directions
The festival is located in the heart of downtown Conroe, Texas. Take I-45 to exit 87A (Hwy. 105/Lake Conroe Parkway) in Conroe. Turn east on Hwy. 105/Davis Street and follow it until you see the festival grounds on the right.
Parking & Free Shuttle Service
Limited street parking is available near the festival. Reasonably-priced parking is also available in several lots in the surrounding downtown area. Downtown parking fills up quickly during peak festival times. One of the easiest ways to access the festival is by using the free shuttle service, which operates from the Target parking lot on the southwest corner of the intersection of I-45 North and Hwy 105 West. The shuttle will be in operation all three days beginning 30 minutes before the festival gates open until 30 minutes after the gates close.
Lodging In and Around Conroe
Conroe and the surrounding area offers a variety of lodging options. Baymont Inn is a festival sponsor.
You cannot bring alcoholic beverages onto the festival grounds. Beer and wine will be sold by vendors at the festival. To purchase alcoholic beverages from vendors, you must buy tokens at the festival-sponsored booths and show your valid ID to receive a wristband signifying that you are of legal age to drink. Downtown restaurants and bars within the festival area will also have beverage service.
The weather in October in Texas can be warm or cool, or both in a single day. The festival takes place rain or shine, and the music continues unless there is a threat of lightening or rain heavy enough to affect the electronic equipment.
Pets are not allowed, except for service animals. No coolers or alcoholic beverages can be brought onto the festival grounds.

Please arrive 30 minutes before your shift starts so that you can get signed in at the Volunteer Check-In Booth at the North Main Gate (San Jacinto & Simonton) and make it to where you are supposed to be before your shift starts.
